In early March, this was increased to a 20% additional tariff on goods imported into the United States from China. While, this is a topic we expect to continue to have updates on in the coming months, here is what we know at this time:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An Additional 20% Tariff has gone into effect<\/li>\n<li>This is effective with respect to goods that are the product of China and Hong Kong<\/li>\n<li>Products entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on February 4, 2025<\/li>\n<li>These items\/products are no longer eligible for the \u201cde minimis\u201d administrative exemption from duty and certain tax at 19 U.S.C. \u00a7 1321(a)(2)(C)*<br \/>\n<em style=\"font-size: 12px;\">*De minimis has been reinstated in the presidential announcement <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/02\/amendment-to-duties-addressing-the-synthetic-opioid-supply-chain-in-the-peoples-republic-of-china\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amendment to Duties Addressing the Synthetic Opioid Supply in the People&#8217;s Rebuplic of China<\/a> on 1\/5\/25<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All of the details for this announcement can be found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/content.govdelivery.com\/bulletins\/gd\/USDHSCBP-3d062f4?wgt_ref=USDHSCBP_WIDGET_2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CSMS # 63988468 &#8211; GUIDANCE: Additional Duties on Imports from China<\/a>. This is the official publication from U.S. Customs and Border Protection as of February 4, 2025.<\/p>\n<h2>How Do You Declare These Additional Duties on Imports from China<\/h2>\n<p>Similarly to what we saw during the 2018 Trade War, U.S. Customs and Border Protection will be using the additional Chapter 99 HTSUS code to declare that your entry is subject to the additional duties on imports from China and Hong Kong. This Chapter 99 code should be included on your entry summary when you make entry into the United States.
