CBP is really cracking down to make sure ITCs are properly bonded.<\/h3>\n<p>We have a lot of great information on our website about this international carrier bonds as well as information we can send in an email. These bonds do require a few more steps (if you are a first-time applicant) than compared to an <a href=\"https:\/\/traderiskguaranty.com\/customs-bonds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">import bond<\/a>, but since it is required you will have to complete each step no matter where you go for the bond.<\/p>\n<h2>How to Place an International Carrier Bond<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Step 1:\u00a0<\/strong>Submit Application Letter to Customs &amp; Border Protection at one port you will be operating. Application Letter must be on your company letterhead and include the following<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Statement of general characteristics of merchandise\/passengers<\/li>\n<li>Estimated value of merchandise transporting<\/li>\n<li>Method of transportation (vessel, vehicle, aircraft, rail, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Country(s) in which transporting activities will occur<\/li>\n<li>Statement of certification: \u201cI certify that the factual information contained in this application is true and accurate and any information provided which is based upon estimates is based upon the best information available on the date of this application.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>List of the officers of the company, including title, as well as a list of all persons employed by the company in carriage, receipt, storage, delivery, and cargo handling of imported merchandise. These lists shall include names, addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, dates and places of birth. Furnishing this personal data substantially expedites processing and prevents misidentification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Step 2:<\/strong> Once Application Letter is approved by Customs &amp; Border Protection you should submit the following to Trade Risk Guaranty (all \u201cforms\u201d provided by TRG).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Copy of the company\u2019s Air Carrier Certificate<\/li>\n<li>Copy(s) of each aircraft\u2019s Certificate of Aircraft Registration<\/li>\n<li>Completed US Customs Application for Activity Code 3 Bond form<\/li>\n<li>Completed C3 Bondholder Questionnaire form<\/li>\n<li>Completed bond application form<\/li>\n<li>Completed power-of-attorney form<\/li>\n<li>Company\u2019s most recent financial statements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information on International Carrier Bonds, read through the <a href=\"https:\/\/help.cbp.gov\/app\/answers\/detail\/a_id\/453\/kw\/minimum%20requirements%20for%20customs%20bond\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">official requirements from Customs and Border Protection<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This bond ensures operators properly manifest all goods and passengers they carry, pay for the overtime services of Customs officers and comply with all regulations related to the clearance of their vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>All commercial carriers, including Part 135 charter for hire operators, arriving directly or indirectly in the United States from foreign countries or departing the United States for foreign destination by vessel, vehicle, or aircraft, are required to have an approved International Carrier Bond on file with Customs and Border Protection.
