12/2009 TRG Marine Introduces New Online Cargo Insurance Application

Marine Insurance (also known as Cargo Insurance) covers the loss, damage, or theft of commodities while in transit. Since 1991, TRG Marine has offered cargo insurance on an annual policy basis. Companies engaged in international trade come to Surety Agents such as TRG Marine to compare and evaluate their insurance needs. TRG Marine believes that with the enhancements of this online application, companies will seamlessly apply for a quote and be able to quickly compare rates with that of their current provider.

11/2009 TRG Experiences Surge in Airport Security Customs Bond Applicants

Various types of Customs bonds are required by U.S. Customs depending on a company’s business practices. All Customs bonds are financial guarantees between three parties: the Insurance/Surety company issuing the bond, the Principal (who is required to file the bond), and Customs & Border Protection (CBP). The Customs bond guarantees Customs & Border Protection that if they cannot collect monies due from the Principal they can seek remedy, up to the bond amount, from the Insurance/Surety company.

10/2009 TRG Releases Restructured Continuous Customs Bond Online Application

Barrington, IL (PRWEB) October 19, 2009 -- Every company that imports into the United States must secure the shipment with a U.S. Customs bond. This bond is a guarantee to Customs & Border Protection that any duties or taxes and any fines or penalties assessed on the goods will be paid. In the past, most importers acquired this through a Customs broker, but a new trend has gained momentum in the industry. TRG, a surety agent, offers the importer a cost savings option on the continuous customs bond by cutting out the third party mark-up.

9/2009 TRG Launches ISF Webinar for Customs Bond Holders

Are You Prepared to Pay $5,000 per ISF for Non-Compliance? If you are not filing your ISF today, you risk being the first of importers to be fined a minimum of $5,000 in the first quarter of 2010. Along with penalties, your goods could be held up and your relationship with Customs jeopardized. Importing into the US is not a right, it’s a privilege. As a current Customs Bond holder, TRG would like to urge you to attend our upcoming Importer Security Filing Webinar.

8/2009 U.S. Customs Bonds Direct from TRG Reaches 18 Year Milestone

Barrington, IL (PRWEB) August 5, 2009 -- To many importers, the U.S. Customs bond is considered a commodity item. Even so, this government mandated "contract" is purchased on a continuous basis and therefore is a never-ending recurring cost. TRG entered the Customs bond market back in 1991 as a direct provider. Prior to offering this option, an importer purchased the bond from a Customs broker, who had obtained the bond from a Surety agent. By cutting out the middle man, TRG found a niche in the market and has grown over the past 18 years.
