A common question for US importers is “do I need another customs bond to cover my Importer Security Filing (ISF)?”. In most cases, the answer is no.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has amended the following continuous bonds to cover Importer Security Filing.
Your ISF bonding requirements are met if you currently hold one of these continuous bonds in place. Fines and penalties for ISF non-compliance will not be assessed during the one year trial period, however, a continuous bond is still required to secure these filings.
Do You Still Import Using Single Entry Bonds?
If you continue to import using single entry bonds you will need to purchase the new continuous ISF Bond.
