Montana Pastimes with TRG

Summertime in Montana isn’t complete without some time spent outdoors in the beautiful scenery provided by nature. Grilling is a spectacular way to bring good people together to share stories and delicious food.

At TRG we enjoy spending time together outside of the confines of our offices, which is why we organize regular get-togethers. These gatherings range from hikes to cookouts, from leisurely meanderings down lazy rivers to white knuckle whitewater rafting. The activity itself is less important than the ultimate goal of joining friends and colleagues in an outdoor adventure.

Our latest gala included grilling and an enormous spread of other delectable foods from all ends of the culinary spectrum. We had summer sausages, harvested and created from start to finish by our resident master hunter, custom-ground patties, and the ubiquitous summer grilling item, franks. Our banquet was far from carnivorous though—we had a tasty slew of irresistible baked goods, a cornucopia of colorful salads, and tasty beverages to keep the heat at bay. The sun was shining down with particular intensity the day of our cookout. For this reason, we decided it would be prudent to hold the Pond Jumping Olympic Finals.

Almost everyone competed. It was unclear as to whether the contenders’ motivation was provided by the somewhat oppressive heat that day, or the excited shouts and laughter coming from the dock. Either way, there was an epic competition of misty flips, swan dives, cannonballs, and belly flops. The winner couldn’t be decided in the end, because there were so many impressive aerial feats being accomplished that day. Even the fish in the pond were silently voicing their approval in the way only a fish can, by jumping into the air with an impressive splash and “bla-wooop!”

After the great excitement of the Pond, Jumping Olympics had subsided, and everyone had been sufficiently air-dried by the warm wind, the crew gathered back onto the deck to sample more victuals, soak up more sun, and enjoy some more pleasant conversation. Days like these are why we are so glad to call Montana our home, and TRG our company.
