TRG Wins the Bozeman Commuter Challenge

The Bozeman Commuter Challenge is a community event where organizations and businesses compete against each other while sustainably traveling to and from work.

This June, TRG competed in the Bozeman Commuter Challenge. This annual challenge between businesses and organizations in the community promotes efficient transportation and brings the TRG team closer every year. We have even taken the top spot a handful of times.

The Bozeman Commuter Challenge

This challenge takes place every spring for one month, this year the challenge took place June 1- June 30. The purpose of the challenge is to encourage healthy, sustainable, means of transportation as well as reducing the traffic around areas of business.

TRG is located in downtown Bozeman. Our part of town is a vibrant social and economic hub which attracts a lot of traffic. Bozeman is the gateway to Yellowstone National Park, naturally, this brings a considerable amount of tourists through town. Tourists visiting Yellowstone National Park frequent downtown during their trips through Bozeman.

How the Bozeman Commuter Challenge Works

In order to participate, commuters can bike, walk, carpool, or take the bus on their way to work or lunch. Companies compete in categories against each other depending on the number of people they currently employ, TRG competed in the 26-50 employee category. Commuters log their trips on the Commuter Challenge website which tracks distance and number of trips.

The winners are based on the number of trips compared to the total employees at the company.

TRG is the 2019 Champion

This year TRG won the challenge for the 26-50 employee category. We could not be more proud of our employees and their commitment. This is the second time that TRG has won the event, we also won in 2017. 17 of our employees participated and logged 475 trips, traveling 405 miles, and saving 324 lbs. of CO2.

Here at TRG, we tried our hardest to participate in this challenge, but in the end it was all for fun. Friends walked/rode to work together and it kept everyone’s spirits high through the month of June.

We had a blast participating in this event and cannot wait for next year’s Commuter Challenge!
