TRG team members get together at Sward Ranch for an afternoon of disc golf.
As Spring began in Bozeman, MT, a few members of the TRG team got together to take advantage of the clear skies and the warmer temperatures by playing a round of disc golf. The event was organized by a member of TRG’s sales team, Craig Sward, a professional disc golfer and the host of the Sward’s Ranch Classic.
The group consisted of members from TRG’s sales team and underwriting department, but everyone was invited to join in playing through the temporary course left behind during the days following the tournament at Sward Ranch. The course is located on a very tucked away property above Norris down some seriously rough roads that an average street car would have difficulty traversing.
However, this temporary course is only up for a few weeks in the Spring and has now been packed up. For future disc golf games, the team will have to head over to Bohart, one of America’s premier disc golf courses and the location of the Rocky Mountain Championship.
Below are some pictures and anecdotes from the group.
“I’d camped out at Revenue Flats in high school and when I heard Craig had a private disc golf course out there I jumped at the opportunity to experience a truly unique slice of Big Sky Country. Characterized by wide open fields and staggeringly large rock monuments, Sward Ranch is the best disc golf course this side of the Mississippi, I assume.”

“Rob, Ryan, Kevin, Craig, and myself came to the course with varying degrees of disc golf skills, but that didn’t hinder our enjoyment of the course. Many of the holes had significant distances between the tee and the basket and this made for challenging throwing and traversing. We probably hiked six miles during the three plus hours it took to finish all 18 holes, but we were constantly blown away by the sheer beauty of the landscape. As Craig is a professional each of us learned more about disc golf from his unique tactics of the game and familiarity of the course. I had a blast out there and needless to say, I’d do it again in a heartbeat.”
